Mom's Coffee

Mother's of school aged children come join us for coffee and discussion. 

Bible Study Classes

Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the parlor

Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the parlor

Come join us for an in depth look at the bible and discussion group.  The Tuesday night class will be beginning the Disciple 2 study on August 15th and the Wednesday class is almost finished with teh Disciple 1 study.  These classes offer daily readings on a specific topic and 20 min. video and then discussion.  Both take sections of reading from the entire Bible and give a more complete picture of both the Old and New testaments and how they relate to each other.

 

United Methodist Women (UMW)

You are invited to join the United Methodist Women whose purpose is to  
know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus 
Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand 
concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of 
the church.  Our meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month 
January through May and September through November at 1:30 p.m. in the 
Eve Mohler parlor of the Educational Building located at 3501 Hueco 
Avenue.  A June  salad luncheon is held at 12:00 noon.  The December 
luncheon is a potluck luncheon starting at 12:00 noon.  Members are 
asked to bring home baked cookies to fill Christmas cookie bags that 
are delivered to the home bound members.
The following are mission and community projects supported by the unit:
    Donations are made to in-town and out-of-town mission projects.
    Houchen Community center, Lydia Patterson Institute, Landsun Homes, 
    Faith UMC Hispanic Ministry
    Drivers are provided for the city-wide Meals on Wheels for the 
    homebound.
    The Grapevine Thrift Shop is located in the basement of the 
    Educational Building at the Grama Street entrance and is open each 
    Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
    Tsunami Relief Fund donation.
    Support for the Rev. Martin Reeves missionary family in Peru.

As a unit our church responsibilities include:
    Preparing the communion elements for monthly service.
    Serving or delivering meals to church families when a death occurs.
    Preparing sandwiches and sack lunches for the homeless.
    Putting together family food packs for needy families in the community.

Local Activities:
    Participate in Church Women United meetings.
    Sponsor a Good Friday Silent Prayer Breakfast for the congregation.
    Each November an Annual Bazaar is held to raise funds for missions  
    activities and out reach.
    Attending meetings and retreats in-town and out-of-town for leadership 
    and spiritual growth for our members.

Emmaus

Walk to Emmaus is a three day retreat that features 15 seminars.  Those interested should contact the pastor.
